Frankie watched Storm as he looked through the photos of her house in all its steps of construction. âWhat do you think?â
âI think itâs going to be amazing. How big is it?â
âForty-five hundred square feet. I didnât want upstairs. Iâve never liked two-story homes. So this house will be spread out. See here where the bedrooms are. This room is the master bedroom, and these five are the children's rooms. The kitchen is big because families always gather in the kitchen.â
They were sitting in Baileyâs room whispering so as not to wake her. Frankie didnât know if she did the right thing telling Storm about her dream house. I shouldnât have shown him the five childrenâs rooms. He looks like heâs going to hyper-ventilate. Hell, Frankie, youâre going to scare him off if you keep talking like that. âThere is a beautiful cabin on the other side of the river from my home. I took some photos of it as well.â
Storm didnât have to look at the photo. That cabin belonged to him. He didnât get to visit as much as he wanted to. He smiled at Frankie. âI know what that cabin looks like. I own it.â
âWhat, how do you own it? Iâve always been told the same family has owned that cabin for hundreds of years.â
âYes, it was my great-grandfather, or maybe it was my great-great-grandfather. There are thirty acres. My grandma and I use to go there when I had school vacation. I loved it. I would swim all afternoon while grams would sit in the shade and watch me. She would cook outside, for some reason, the food was so much better cooked outside. When I got older, I would help her cook. Grams taught me everything I know about cooking. I wish she would have lived longer. Gram was the first woman I ever loved. You are the second woman Iâve loved and the last woman I will ever love. I love you, sweetheart.â
âWhat did I do to deserve your love? Iâm the luckiest woman on this planet.â
âWe are both lucky to have each other. There are only a few people in this world who find their true love.â
âDr. Strong, Iâm sorry to bother you, but we have a patient who was just brought in to the emergency room, and there is no surgeon available.â
Frankie jumped up. She turned to Storm. âI have to go now. Iâll see you later.â
âOkay, sweetheart,â he said. Storm watched the doorway for ten minutes after Frankie left. Baileyâs right. Frankie has marriage on her mind. How am I going to tell her I never want to marry? We can live together for the rest of our lives without getting married. Storm whispered.
âI told you. Frankie wants a family. She is building her forever home,â Bailey whispered.
âHow long have you been listening in on my conversation with my lady?â
âI only caught the part about her home. Donât tell her you donât want to ever marry. If you do, youâll chase her away for good.
